Contemporary Renovation

Royal Greenwich

Norman Architects have completed the renovation and extension of a 4 bed Victorian terraced house in Woolwich.  The convoluted floor plan has been transformed to create good sized, bright rooms, whilst retaining the beautiful period features.

The house suffered from a poor relationship between the principal ground floor living spaces and the rear garden which sits at a higher level:  The ground floor has been remodelled to incorporate an open plan kitchen and dining space, with an adjacent minimalist sunken courtyard, perfect for entertaining.  The neutral palette of materials creates a clean and light aesthetic, letting the 19th century details speak for themselves.  Appropriate modern interventions bring the house into the 21st century, whilst losing none of its Victorian charm.
